TrolMaster Digital Day/Night Fan Speed Controller (BETA-2)
The TrolMaster Digital Day/Night Fan Speed Controller (BETA-2) is a standalone, temperature-based fan controller that automatically adjusts the speed of compatible 120V variable-speed fans in grow rooms, grow tents, greenhouses, and other controlled environments. By increasing or decreasing fan speed according to the measured temperature, the BETA-2 provides a simple and economical way to manage heat and ventilation without requiring a complete environmental control system.
A built-in photocell automatically detects day and night conditions, allowing separate temperature and fan-speed settings for each period. The included remote temperature sensor features a 16 ft (4.88 m) cable, making it easy to position the sensor close to the plant canopy for more representative temperature readings.
Automatic Fan Speed Control by Temperature
The BETA-2 continuously monitors the growing environment temperature and adjusts the connected fan according to the programmed settings.
When the temperature is below the selected temperature setpoint, the controller maintains the programmed fan speed. When the temperature rises above the setpoint, the BETA-2 automatically provides 100% power to the fan to increase cooling and ventilation.
If the temperature falls below the programmed cutoff temperature, the controller can completely shut down the fan.
This automated response helps maintain more stable growing conditions while reducing unnecessary fan operation.
Separate Day and Night Settings
The BETA-2 features a built-in photocell that automatically detects whether the growing environment is in day or night mode.
Separate settings can be programmed for:
- Day temperature
- Day fan speed
- Night temperature
- Night fan speed
- Fan cutoff temperature
This lets growers run ventilation differently during lights-on and lights-off periods without manually changing the controller.
Adjustable Temperature Control
The BETA-2 offers a temperature-control range of 41–95°F (5–35°C).
Growers can select the temperature at which the fan should switch from its programmed operating speed to maximum output.
For example, the fan can run at a lower continuous speed under normal conditions and automatically increase to full power when the grow room gets too warm.
Adjustable Fan Speed
The controller allows the user to select the desired fan-speed percentage for both day and night operation.
When the temperature remains below the programmed day or night temperature setpoint but above the cutoff temperature, the BETA-2 maintains the selected fan speed.
If the temperature rises above the temperature setpoint, the controller automatically increases the fan output to 100%.
This provides continuous ventilation while allowing additional cooling when temperatures increase.
Programmable Fan Cutoff Temperature
The BETA-2 includes a separate cutoff-temperature setting.
If the measured temperature falls below this setting, the controller shuts down the connected fan rather than continuing to operate it at the programmed minimum speed.
This feature can be useful in cooler environments where unnecessary ventilation could cause temperatures to fall too low.
Remote Temperature Sensor
The included temperature sensor connects to the controller using a 16 ft (4.88 m) cable.
The extended cable allows the probe to be positioned closer to the plant canopy rather than directly beside the controller, helping provide temperature readings that better represent the actual growing environment.
For best results, the sensor should be installed in a well-ventilated location away from direct heat sources.
LED Digital Display
The BETA-2 features a clear LED display to view the current temperature and program the controller.

International Orders

Cancellations
If you need to cancel your order, we recommend reaching out to us ASAP. We charge a 2.9% (credit card), 3.5% (PayPal), 4.0% (PayPal International), 4.1% (American Express), or 6.5% (Shop Pay Installments or Sezzle) order cancellation fee after the order was received. We can accommodate most requests, but due to the different time zones and schedules that our warehouses ship from, sometimes the cancellation request may not reach the warehouse in time before the product ships. Once the item has been arranged to ship or has shipped, the package will be treated like a 'return' and is subject to ship-back fees and restocking fees. If you purchased 'Route Package Protection', this can not be refunded after the order has shipped.
