Net & Plant Supports
Net & Plant Supports are extremely useful when growing flower. To maximize your output, organize and direct your plants to release maximum yield, trellising is an integral part of this as it creates a roadmap to your garden, setting up a space for each plant to grow.
Plant support is an ancient Roman practice of vertical agriculture. With farming, there are both horizontal and vertical types of trellises. Vertical trellises can be composed of PVC, bamboo, or wood. However, for horizontal trellising, a trellis netting is draped atop the plants.
Indoor and outdoor trellising differ in size and style, outdoor is rigid metal, wood, or PVC posts and wire which create a vertical frame for the plant. Indoor growing uses a Screen of Green or ScrOG trellising net method over top of the plant during the vegetation stage of growth. Nets are well suited to trellising, they are an effective system used to organize and nurture plant growth.
For vertical trellising, install it at the beginning of the growth cycle, however, with horizontal trellising it can be installed many times throughout the life of a plant with the last layer of netting put on a plant at the start of its’ flowering.
Trellising creates the ideal environment for a plant to spread with enough space while at the same time avoiding mould, bud rot, and instigating fuller growth. Because marijuana, like any plant, is drawn towards the sun, the branches can clump together in their quest for nutrition from light so organization is helpful.
Without the trellis structure, the branches from the plant interior do not get adequate sunlight to thrive, thus the canopy will become overcrowded and it will grow smaller. Equally space the gaps in the trellis netting to create enough room for your plants. Trellises also help buds from toppling over from their own weight.
